k-beauty

I have a theory, once you dive into the k-beauty world, there’s no going back! There’s just something about korean skincare brands that makes you want to fill your stash with them. Being a skincare junkie, of course I’ve tried brands from other parts of the world, and I can say there are many great brands out there, but korean skincare seems to do it best for me.

Why K-beauty?

You see, when I watch k-dramas, there’s usually a pattern in the skin texture of the actors. Smooth, glassy and radiant skin. There’s no wonder that the term”glass skin” is commonly used in Korea. They sure know how to do skin care over there. Researching on k-beauty opened my eyes further to why their products gives most of the time! While the goal of any skincare product is to basically make the skin healthy, Korean skincare takes a unique approach in doing this.

Number 1 reason why

The idea behind Korean skincare is majorly about working with your skin’s natural ecosystem by cleansing, hydrating, nourishing, and protecting it. This approach has a life long lasting result on the skin. Another thing I find amusing is the fact that k-beauty products focuses on protecting the skin and preventing damage rather than undoing damage ( we all know prevention is better than cure anyways ). It only makes sense that we take preventive measures while caring for our skin rather than trying to reverse damages that might take a very long time to be undone, or worse that may never be reversed.

Number 2

k-beauty

There are a lot of brilliant innovations in the k-beauty world. From pimple patches to hydrating sheet masks with excellent formulations. Let’s not start with the pretty packaging and the genius brains behind the easy mode of applying these products?? Give them their flowers please.

Number 3

k-beauty

K-beauty is really that girl, and you can miss it with the harsh ingredients propaganda. Korean beauty heritage is rooted in natural ingredients passed down from generation to generation (talk about the Joseon era). This heritage has greatly influenced the Korean beauty industry today as the focus is still on producing gentle products with these ingredients.

They also make use of the most effective Western ingredients with a combination of ingredients like ginseng, snail mucin and bee venom.

Number 4

Despite how excellent these products are, coupled with the pretty packaging, they are very affordable! I mean, the beauty industry is a very competitive one and it’s very easy to want to hike prices. But the competition among beauty brands in Korea is a pretty fierce one. This helps keep the prices of beauty products down while the quality is still sky high
